The National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT), Noida, has invited applications for the joint entrance examination to be held on May 8 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. across the country for admission to three-year B.Sc. programme in hospitality and hotel administration conducted at various institutes of hotel management and catering technology. The test centres will include Thiruvananthapuram, Chennai, Bangalore, Goa, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Lucknow, Delhi and Kolkata.

Eligibility: Candidates must have passed Plus Two with English as one of the compulsory subjects. Those are going to appear for the Plus Two exams can also apply. The upper age limit is 22 as on July 1, 2010. The age limit is relaxable by three years for candidates belong to SC/ST communities.

How to apply?

Those interested can download application forms from the website http://nchmct.org. The filled in application along with a demand draft of Rs.950 drawn in favour of National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Noida, payable at Noida, should be sent by speed post to JEE Cell, NCHMCT, A- 34, Sector–62, Noida–201301 so as to reach the addressee on or before March 29.
The NCHMCT shall dispatch printed OMR application forms to candidates. The candidates must fill the form and send it back to the JEE cell, NCHMCT, Noida, by April 12.

Based on the marks scored in the JEE 2010, about 29 institutes of hotel management and catering technology , State level institutions and institutes in the private sector will admit students for the first year B.Sc. degree course in hospitality and hotel administration.

Government-run Institutes of Hotel Management are functioning at Kovalam (Thiruvananthapuram), Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigrah, Taramani (Chennai), Dehradun, New Delhi, Gandhinagar, Gangtok, Goa, Gurdaspur, Guwahati, Gwalior, Hazipur, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kolkata, Kurukshetra, Kozhikode, Lucknow, Mumbai, Shillong, Shimla, Srinagar, Faridabad (Haryana).

In the private sector, Oriental School of Hotel Management, Lakkidi, Vythiri Wyanad, will also admit students for the course based on JEE–2010. For more details visit http://nchmct.org.
