Post Graduate admissions open for 2010

Applications are invited for the following Post Graduate programmes in Health Sciences before 20th March, 2010

Intake for Post Graduate courses: M.D. (General Medicine) (7 seats); M.S.(General Surgery) (7 seats); M.D.(Pediatrics) (7 seats); M.S.(Obstetrics and Gynecology) (7 seats); M.S. Duration of the post graduate courses: The duration of the Post Graduate course is 36 months divided into 6 semesters of 6 months each from the date of commencement of the course.

Commencement of the programme: The academic session for the post graduate students will commence every year in the month of March. Admission will be conducted once in a year.

Eligibility criteria for admissions:
(a) The candidates must have passed MBBS examination from a recognized medical college and should have obtained final registration from the medical council of the concerned country, after completion of one year rotating internship training. Additional one year clinical experience in recognized hospitals is required as per medical council of Mauritius. Such candidates will be required to submit a certificate of at least one year from the relevant authorities of the hospital were they have practiced

(b) The candidate undergoing two year rotating internship training and likely to obtain final registration certificate from the medical council of the concerned country, on and before 28th February, 2010 can also appear for the interview. Such candidates will be required to submit a certificate from the relevant authorities regarding the likely date of completion of rotating internship training failing which his application will be treated as incomplete and shall be rejected.

(c) The candidates should be reasonably well versed in English.

(d) The candidates of any nationality can apply by producing the nationality certificate.

Admission procedure:
* Application form: A candidate for admission must submit an application in his own handwriting, in prescribed application form, which has been duly signed and issued by the Managing director of the Padmashree Dr DY Patil medical college. The application forms can be obtained from registered office at Quatre Borne, Mauritius. Application form can be downloaded from the website of college. This form, duly completed in all respect along with necessary documents, must be submitted either by registered post or handed over personally together with stamped and self-addressed envelope for a reply, so as to reach the office of the Padmashree Dr DY Patil medical college, Quatre Borne before the last date. Incomplete, defective and late applications will not be considered and no correspondence in this matter will be entertained.

* List of documents: The attested copies of the following documents must be submitted along with application form. The original should be presented at the time of verification (i) Interview letter (ii) Nationality certificate/valid passport (iii) birth certificate (iv) first year MBBS examination mark sheet (v) second year MBBS examination mark sheet (vi) third year MBBS (part I/II) examination mark sheet statement (vii) two years of rotating internship training completion certificate or certificate from the Dean/Principal of the college regarding the likely date of completion of rotating internship training, failing in which the application will be treated as incomplete and shall be rejected. If an internship will be for one year then candidate should produce clinical experience certificate of one more year to fulfill the criterion of medical council of Mauritius (viii) registration certificate issued by medical council (ix) transfer certificate from the medical Institution you have studied (x) six recent passport-size photographs (xi) the amount of tuition fee, other fees and hostel fee in case you are admitted to Hostel (xii) an affidavit in the format given signed by you and countersigned by your parent/guardian.

Selection procedure: Selection will be based on merit, taking also into consideration the applicant’s ability to meet the financial requirements of overseas education and to contribute towards the growth of the institution. Short listed candidates may be required to appear for an interview before the admission panel headed by the Managing Director on the given date and venue which will be intimated later, at their own expenses. Selected candidates will have to pay the required fee before the admission by cashier cheque/ demand draft in favor of DYP worldwide limited, payable at Mauritius.

Submission of applications: Mauritian students can obtain and submit their forms at Padmashree Dr DY Patil medical college, Quatre Borne.

Students from other countries are advised to obtain and submit application forms at the nearest designated centre. The application form can be downloaded from the website of the college.

The National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE), Mumbai, has invited applications for admission to the following programmes:

* Postgraduate diploma in industrial engineering (PGDIE):
This two-year programme trains industrial engineers as technology management experts for both manufacturing and service sector.

The programme covers subjects such as supply chain management, six sigma operations management, project management, logistics and software engineering.

Eligibility: Candidates who have first class degree in engineering and have passed GATE can apply.

The candidate should have studied and passed in one or more Government or Government recognised educational institutions located in the State of Karnataka for a minimum period of SEVEN academic years commencing from 1st standard to 2nd PUC / 12th standard as on 1st July of the year in which the Entrance Test is held and must have appeared and passed either SSLC / 10th standard 2nd PUC / 12th standard examination from Karnataka State.In case of the candidate who had taken more than one year to pass a class or standard, the years of academic study is counted as one year only.

Eligibility Clause

The candidate should have studied and passed both 1st and 2nd year Pre-University Examination or 11th and 12th standard examination within the State of Karnataka from an Educational Institution  run or recognized by the State Government and that either of the parents should have studied in Karnataka for a minimum period of SEVEN years.

Eligibility Clause

The candidate and either of his / her parent’s mother tongue should be Kannada, Tulu or Kodava and either of parents was domiciled in the state of Karnataka, such candidate should have passed the qualifying examination from a University or Board or any other Institution located outside Karnataka and should be residing outside the State of Karnataka as on 1st July of 2009. Provided that the candidate shall undergo a Kannada Language test conducted by KEA.

SSLC / 10th standard Marks Card and 2nd PUC / 12th standard Marks Card of the candidate along with – (1) a domicile certificate issued by the concerned Revenue or Municipal Authorities certifying that the candidate and his father have resided outside the state of Karnataka as on 01-07-2009. The place of the Issuing authority should correspond to the place of domicile of the candidate / father / mother. (2) a domicile certificate issued by concerned Revenue Authorities of the state of Karnataka regarding the previous domicile of the father / mother of the candidate as a place in the state of Karnataka.
The place of the Issuing authority should correspond to the place of domicile of the father / mother.(3) Candidate’s Study certificate, Transfer Certificate. (4) Father / mother 10th standard marks card / original cumulative record in original in support of mother tongue as Kannada / Tulu / Kodava. (5) A duly sworn declaration regarding mother tongue of the candidates. Candidates should produce the photocopies of
all the above documents compulsorily when they appear for Kannada Language Test on 01-05-2009, failing which, ranks will not be assigned.

Eligibility Clause

A candidate whose mother tongue is Kannada, Tulu or Kodava should have resided and studied for a period of SEVEN YEARS between 1 and 12 standards in disputed Kannada speaking area of South Sholapur or Akkalkot or Jath or Gadhinglaj Taluks of Maharashtra State or Kasargod or Hosadurga Taluks of Kerala State. Provided that the candidate shall undergo a Kannada Language test conducted by KEA.

(1) a residential certificate from the concerned Tahsildar of the respective disputed Taluk.
(2) candidate’s study certificate issued by the head of institution, which should be countersigned by Taluk Education Officer.
(3) a duly sworn declaration regarding mother tongue of the candidates. Candidate should produce the photocopies of all the above documents compulsorily when they appear for Kannada Language Test on 01-05-2009, failing which, ranks will not be assigned.

NOTE: The candidates claiming eligibility under Clauses ‘c’ and ‘d’ above, should invariably speak, read and write Kannada. Otherwise, they will not be assigned ranks.

Eligibility Clause

In the case of a candidate who is son or daughter of defence personnel who has worked continuously in Karnataka for a minimum period of one year between 1 July of 2008 to 30 June of 2009. The candidate should have studied and passed the qualifying examination from any Government or Government recognised educational institution located in the State of Karnataka.

Documents  to be Produced:

SSLC / 10 standard Marks Card and 2 PUC / 12 standard Marks Card of the candidate along with (1) the candidate’s study certificate for having studied 2 PUC or equivalent examination in Karnataka issued by the head of the educational institution.
(2) employment certificate of the parent issued by the Controlling Office where the parent is working indicating the period during which he has worked in the State of Karnataka i.e., from the reporting date to till date.

Eligibility Clause

Son or daughter of serving Defence personnel from Karnataka who at the time of joining the Defence service had declared his / her hometown a place in the State of Karnataka. Proof of such domicile should be obtained and produced by obtaining the extract from the Record Office of the Defence unit. Further, the candidate should have passed the Q. E. from a University or Board or any other institution located anywhere in India.

SSLC / 10 standard Marks Card and 2 PUC / 12 standard Marks Card of the candidate; If claiming reservation benefits:- Caste / Caste Income Certificate issued by Tahsildar as per the prescribed format given in the brochure along with parent’s home town declaration certificate while joining the service issued by Record Office of the Defence unit.

Eligibility Clause

In the case of a candidate who is a son or daughter of a defence personnel who had served in Karnataka for at least one year and is posted on duty in Field / Active Service and whose family is permitted by Defence Authorities to continue to stay in Karnataka. Such candidate should have studied and passed the qualifying examination from any Government or Government recognised educational institution located in Karnataka.

SSLC / 10 standard Marks Card and 2nd PUC / 12th standard Marks Card of the candidate along with

(1) the candidate’s study certificate for having studied 2nd PUC or equivalent examination in Karnataka issued by the head of the educational institution.

(2) service certificate of the parent issued by the Controlling Office indicating the period during which the parent has worked in Karnataka and a certificate showing the present place of posting, indicating that his family is permitted to stay in Karnataka. The present working place of the parent should be indicated in NAME and not by CODE NUMBERS.

Son or daughter of an ex-servicemen who at the time of joining the defence service had declared a place in Karnataka as his home town, proof of such domicile should be obtained and produced from the “Deputy Director, Department of Sainik Welfare and Resettlement”. Further, the candidate should have passed the Q. E. from a University or Board or any other institution located anywhere in India.

In the case of a candidate being a son or daughter of an employee of the Union Government or an employee of the Union or Karnataka State Government Undertaking or Joint Sector Undertaking, who st th is liable to be transferred anywhere in India as per the terms and conditions of his employment and has worked in Karnataka for a minimum period of one year from 1st July of 2008 to 30th June of 2009 and such candidate has studied and passed the qualifying examination from any Government or Government recognised educational institution located in the State of Karnataka.

(1) the candidate’s study certificate for having studied 2 PUC or equivalent examination in Karnataka issued by the head of the educational institution.

Son or daughter of a working or retired employee of the Union Government or employee of Union or Karnataka State Government undertaking or Joint Sector undertaking where such employee;
(a) had declared to the employer at the time of joining service any place in Karnataka to be his home town; and
(b) had studied in any Government or Government recognised educational institution or institutions located in Karnataka for a minimum period of seven years; and was or is liable to be transferred anywhere in India as per the terms and conditions of his employment. Further, the candidate should have passed the Q. E. from a University or Board or any other institution located anywhere in India.

Son or daughter of Members of Parliament elected from Karnataka. Further, the candidate should have passed the Q. E. from a University or Board or any other institution located anywhere in India.

Eligibility Clause

Son or daughter of serving or retired employee:
(a) belonging to All India Service of Karnataka cadre; and
(b) of the Karnataka State Government,
who has served or is serving outside the State of Karnataka during the period corresponding to Candidate’s study outside the State from 1st standard to 2nd PUC or 12th standard examination can be added
to make up the seven years study within Karnataka as required under clause (a) above.

Eligibility Clause

Son or daughter of Jammu & Kashmiri migrants, proof of such migration (IDENTITY CARD) should be obtained and produced from the jurisdictional “District Magistrate and Deputy Commissioner” of any state in India.

SSLC / 10 standard Marks Card and 2nd PUC / 12th standard Marks Card of the candidate along with a original certificate (IDENTITY CARD) issued by the Jurisdictional District Magistrate and Deputy Commissioner of any state in India, as the proof of migration. The candidates who are claiming eligibility under clause ‘m’ are eligible only for the seats earmarked by the Government.

NOTE: In case, if any of the documents produced in respect of the Clause claimed by the candidate is found to be false / incorrect, the seat selected by the candidate will be cancelled at any stage and the entire fee amount paid by such candidate will be forfeited.

Information bulletin and application form can be obtained from the entrance test cell, office of the controller of examination, BHU, Varanasi-221005, either on cash payment of Rs. 50/- (Fifty) only, from 11.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. on working days; or by registered post by sending a written request mentioning name of the course i.e. undergraduate, postgraduate, special courses of study (diploma and certificate), postal address along with (i) a crossed MICR demand draft/bankers cheque issued by any nationalized/scheduled bank for Rs. 100/- (one Hundred) only in favour of the controller of examinations, Banaras Hindu university, payable at Varanasi, indicating name of candidate and course name on its reverse (ii) a self-addressed unstamped envelope of the size 32 cm x 26cm. The UET/PET/special courses of study (diploma and certificate) information bulletin and application form will also be available on cash payment at Rajiv Gandhi south campus Barkachha, Mirzapur, and some other designated offices of the University.

Test fee shall be charged as per details in the information bulletin, only MICR demand draft/bankers cheque is acceptable, foreign nationals are exempted from appearing in entrance test and are required to contact the International centre, C/3/3, Tagore House, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi-221005 for further details, the facility for online submission of application form is available for only UET and PET till 10th March 2010. The candidates may visit website www.bhu.ac.in for further details, candidates submitting applications online should compulsorily send a signed copy thereof with same photograph and original bank draft, so as to reach in the office of the controller of examinations latest by 17.03.2010 till 05 p.m. failing which the candidature will not be considered, application form- incomplete/received after the last date, shall not be accepted, university shall not be responsible for any delay/loss of application form in postal transit/courier.

2. A candidate must appear for the Common Entrance Test conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority, for PCB subjects in case of admission to Medical /Dental / Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga courses and PCM subjects in case of admission to Engineering / Technology courses. For admission to Architecture course the candidate must appear for NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) conducted by the Council of Architecture and they must compulsorily obtain CET-2010 brochure and submit the filled application form. 3. The merit will be determined in accordance with the provisions of the “Karnataka Selection of Candidates for Admission to Government Seats in Professional Educational Institutions Rules, 2006”.

4. Academic Eligibility
(a) For Medical / Dental courses, the applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th std. or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects and with English as one of the languages of study and have obtained a minimum of 50% of marks in aggregate in the PCB group and should secure a minimum of 50% of marks in aggregate in PCB subjects in the Common Entrance Test. (d) For Architecture course, the applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th Std. or equivalent examination with Mathematics as a compulsory optional subject and obtained a minimum of 50% of marks in aggregate in all the subjects in the qualifying examination (45% of marks in case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes), and should compulsorily appear for NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) and get a minimum of 40% in it. IMPORTANT NOTE :
1. A candidate who had obtained a seat in any discipline through the KEA (CET Cell) in any of the previous years will not be eligible to appear for the Common Entrance Test-2010 for selection of a seat in the same discipline. Academic Programmes

Post Graduate Program in Management

The Post Graduate Programme (PGP) in Management at IIM Indore is a two-year, full-time, residential programme. It is recognised by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to M.B.A. Degree. The programme aims to groom participants into competent professional managers with—
• a capacity to learn and adapt to national and international environment;
• an orientation towards achieving excellence, maintaining high ethical standards; and
• a capacity to work effectively and efficiently, both individually and in-groups.

The PGP is spread over two years, each year consisting of three terms. In between the first and second years, the participant spends eight weeks on a summer project in a business organisation. The academic year begins in June/July and ends in March/April of the following year.
The PGP of IIM Indore have some special features like:

Another unique feature of the PGP at IIM Indore is a compulsory course called Society, Business and Management which exposes the participants to the ethical dilemmas and social responsibilities of business through classroom sessions and develops their social sensitivity through a one-week attachment with an NGO or the CSR wing of a business organization.
Pedagogy

IIM Indore uses a combination of various teaching methods such as cases, projects, independent studies, computer aided instructions, group discussions, lectures, seminars, presentations by participants, and lectures by guest speakers from industry and government. The case method is the predominant pedagogical tool. This sharpens the analytical skills of participants and helps analyze problems from multi-functional perspectives. Instructors mainly guide the group, push participants to develop and defend arguments, and take decisions.
Structure

The Post Graduate Programme lasts six trimesters, spread over two years, with a summer project in between the two years. This eight-week programme is an opportunity for participants to put their ideas and skills to work in established and reputed companies from various sectors.
The first year participants are provided with the fundamental conceptual knowledge, analytical skills and techniques, contextual understanding, environmental awareness and overall perspective that will serve as the bedrock for the programme. The areas covered are Marketing, Finance, Human Resource Management, Quantitative Research, Operations, Economics and Strategy.

In the second year, electives will give participants a deeper understanding of different functional areas and enable them to specialize in areas of their choice. There is emphasis on the application of knowledge gained in the form of projects, group exercises and case discussions. Guest lectures and workshops further enrich their learning.

Admission criteria for the Post Graduate Program in Management: 2010 – 2012

I) Eligibility for CAT based applicants
A candidate must be an Indian national holding a full time Bachelor’s Degree (of at least 3 years duration), with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST) or Persons with Disability (PWD) category] from a recognized university.

In case a candidate has been awarded grades / CGPA instead of marks, the equivalence would be based on the equivalence certified by the university / institution from where they have obtained bachelor’s degree. In case the university / institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by the IIMs by dividing obtained CGPA with the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the resultant with 100.

Selection Process
Candidates seeking admission to the two-year PGP of IIM Indore have to purchase the CAT 2009 vouchers from the nearest designated Axis Bank branch and register themselves on the www.catiim.in  website during the period 9 September – 1 October, 2009. More specific details could be obtained from www.catiim.in  website.

Candidates seeking admission to the two-year PGP of IIM Indore have to appear in the Common Admission Test [CAT] as described in the CAT advertisement, which shall be published in leading news papers during the end of August 2009. CAT 2009 shall be conducted during November 28 – December 7, 2009.

Candidates short-listed for group discussion and/or interview will be intimated usually by the end of January. Individual regret letters are not sent to applicants who are not called for group discussion and interview. IIM Indore conducts admission interviews in Bangalore, Indore, Kolkata, Mumbai, and New Delhi only. However, IIM Indore reserves the right to change the centers at any time if the situation so warrants.

Admission Criteria
Candidates are short-listed for Group Discussion and/or Personal Interview on the basis of their performance in CAT/GMAT, academic record, and relevant work experience. Final selection to the PGP would be based on criteria, such as the candidate’s academic record, scholastic achievements, relevant work experience, and performance in CAT/GMAT, group discussion, and personal interview. However, IIM Indore reserves the right to change the criteria at its discretion.

Reservations
As per Government of India requirement, 15% per cent and 7.5% of the total seats are reserved for scheduled caste (SC) and scheduled tribe (ST) candidates respectively meeting IIMI’s admission requirements; 27% seats are reserved for other backward classes – non creamy layer (OBC-NC) candidates meeting IIMI’s admission requirements. In addition, 3% seats are reserved for persons with disabilities (as per the provisions of Persons with Disabilities Act, 1995) meeting IIMI’s admission requirements. The three categories of disabilities are: (a) low-vision/blindness, b) hearing impairment, and c) locomotor disability/cerebral palsy.

Scholarships
The PGP Office of IIM Indore shall provide details on scholarships administered by IIM Indore to all finally admitted candidates.

II) Eligibility for GMAT based applicants
Admission Procedures for International (Foreign Nationals/ NRIs) Applicants

Candidates such as i) Persons who are permanent citizens of a country other than India and residing outside India and ii) Non-Resident Indians who are not in India during CAT 2009 shall be considered as ‘International Applicants’.

Such candidates must hold a full time Bachelor’s Degree (of at least 3 years duration), with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent and also preferably have two years of full-time work experience after graduation.

Selection Process
A foreign/ NRI applicant, seeking admission to two year PGP of IIM Indore can take GMAT in the country of his/ her residence and apply for admission in the prescribed application form, which can be downloaded from our website during October-November period every year. The GMAT scores should not be older than two calendar years at the time of applying. The scores of the GMAT taken during January 1, 2008 to December 31, 2009 will only be considered for processing. The last date for receipt of complete application packet is January 15, 2010 for the programme commencing June/July 2010.
For such applicants, the application packet must include the following materials:
a) Completed Application Form [Download Form]

b) A copy of the latest GMAT scores (original to be verified at the time of admission, if selected) duly attested.
c) A copy of the latest TOEFL score, if the medium of instruction has not been English (original to be verified at the time of admission, if selected) duly attested.

e) A Statement of Purpose

A foreign/ NRI applicant who is residing in India during the period of admission process will have to take the Common Admission Test (CAT).

Fellow Programme in Management (FPM)

FPM at IIMI

The Fellow Programme at IIMI is a unique doctoral programme in management. It is designed to provide both breadth and depth of knowledge to doctoral participants in management. The programme has two-fold objective of enabling the participants to master the relevant methodological tools of management research on one hand, and the advancement of the current body of management knowledge on the other. The FPM track offers prospects of a career within academia or in (research) positions outside the academia world. Programme’s rigorous curriculum provides ample training for an academic career and gives participants the opportunity to make an indelible mark on the research activity in their respective field. The programme offers specialization in various areas of management.

With the rapid expansion of management education in India, it has become inevitable that top business schools cater to the need of the faculty by producing excellent researchers and academicians. Fellow Programme in Management (FPM)

ADMISSION
The FPM seeks high quality candidates with strong academic background, preferably with professional experience, and intellectual curiosity needed for scholarship in management.

Eligibility

Candidates should have:

a Master’s degree* in any discipline, with at lease 55 per cent marks (High second class) and at least 50% marks at Bachelor’s degree level
OR
a Bachelor’s degree** with complete professional qualifications like CA, ICWA, CS with at least 55 percent marks and with minimum of two years post-qualification work experience
OR
a B.E./B.Tech. Degree with at least 60 per cent marks with a minimum of two years’ post-qualification work experience.

Those appearing for the final year Master’s degree* examination or its equivalent may also apply, subject to completion of all the requirements before the registration date, i.e. end- June of the current year.

*Candidates who are in the final year of their Master’s Programme are eligible to apply. Such candidates, if selected will be permitted to join the programme provisionally subject to the submission of a certificate, issued on or before June 30 of the current year, from the head of the institution implicitly emphasizing that they have completed all requirements for obtaining the degree before June 30 of the current year.

**The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree of any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. The Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent.

Procedure

Applications for admission to the FPM are invited at the same time when the advertisement of Common Admission Test [CAT] is released. Applicants can choose upto three areas of specialization while applying. Application should be submitted on a prescribed application form available from FPM office by a specified date along with a demand draft of Rs 300/ -

Following categories of candidates are considered for admission:

Candidates having a CAT/GMAT score (valid for all areas)
Candidates having GRE/GATE score (valid for selected areas)
Candidates having qualified UGC/CSIR JRF Research test
Candidates not having any score may appear for a Research Aptitude Test (RAT) to be conducted by the institute on a pre announced date.
Lecturers working in AICTE/UGC recognized university and colleges on a full time basis for a minimum period of three years in management related areas.

Short-listed candidates are called for interview and further evaluation in Indore.

Waiver
i. Alumni of IIMs (PGP, PGP-ABM, PGP-PMP, PGPX) are eligible to apply for exemption of first year PGP courses, provided the candidate has obtained in the first year of the above degree/diploma a minimum grade point equivalent to 2.55, with no Fs and not more than two Ds.

ii. Similar program of other universities/Business Schools are eligible to apply for exemption of first year PGP courses, provided they satisfy the following conditions:

a) The candidate should have completed a full-time, two year MBA degree, two year PG Diploma in Management or one year PGPX, one year PGP-PMP (or equivalent) in Management from any recognised University / Business School / Institution.

b) The candidate should have obtained in the first year of the above degree/diploma a minimum average grade point equivalent to IIMI’s 2.55, with no Fs and not more than two Ds.

c) The candidates should have obtained the qualifying degree or diploma, not more than five years ago, with respect to the beginning of the first term of the FPM programme into which she/he is seeking admission.

The granting of the waiver is not automatic. The final decision related to the waiver is made by the FPM EC by taking into account all relevant factors, including:

• The quality and content of the program (MBA/PGDM/PGP-ABM etc.) undergone by the candidate. The FPM Executive committee will come up with a list of such institutions in order to have transparency.
• The performance of the candidate in the program.
• The FPM EC, on applying its criteria, can grant full, partial, or no waiver to the candidate.

Validity of Score: Two years from the date of the standard test and should be valid on the deadline of submission of the application form

Selection to the programme is based on performance in:

1. CAT/GMAT or other standard tests as specified
2. Personal Interview
3. Academic Work
4. Relevant Work Experience [teaching, research, management etc.]
5. Any other, as decided by FPMC.

Fellow Programme in Management (FPM)

FINANCIAL SUPPORT

FPM at IIMI provides financial support to its doctoral students. The FPM participants get a monthly stipend of Rs 15,000/- per month in the first and the second year, Rs. 20,000/- p.m. in the third and the fourth year. The FPM participants will be entitled to the stipend for a maximum period of four years. A contingency grant of Rs. 25,000 per annum to cover research expenses, and books and stationery allowance is available to all FPM participants during the first four years of the programme. No tuition fees shall be charged and free boarding and lodging will be provided for the first four years of the FPM programme with a maximum of two extensions of six months each.

Since the FPM is a full-time residential programme, bachelor accommodation is provided to all the participants in the Institute’s hostel on campus. Limited accommodation for married participants may be available on the campus on payment basis.

FPM participants are encouraged to present papers, which have been submitted to and accepted at professional conferences.

For conferences in India, the institute subsidizes to and fro A/C two tier rail fare, a daily allowance and the conference registration fee. For international conferences, the institute subsidizes expenses subject to a ceiling of Rs one lakh. Participation in international conferences is allowed once during the programme after the completion of the second year. Participation in National Conferences is allowed once in a year from second year onwards.

Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP) (2010-2011)

Introduction
The Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP) is an intensive one-year residential program exemplifying the academic rigor and progressive thinking at IIM Indore. Specially designed to enhance knowledge, skills and capabilities essential for managing and leading organizations, the programme combines skill-building with exploration of good management practices. The exposure to new perspectives, contemporary theories and approaches in management lends focus to leading in turbulent times. In addition to a comprehensive functional core module, the electives provide opportunities to specialize in Strategy, Leadership, and International Business.

Eligibility
The Candidate must have
i) A Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent in any discipline.
ii) A valid CAT /GMAT score
iii) Minimum 5 years of managerial/ entrepreneurial/ professional experience after graduation.

The programme is open to all nationalities.

Selection Process
Interview:
Interview of short listed candidates will be conducted at various locations depending on the number of candidates from that region. Short-listing of candidates for interview will be done based on a number of criteria like CAT /GMAT score, Academic performance, work experience etc as decided by the admissions committee.

Selection & registering for the programme:
Candidates will be selected based on CAT /GMAT score, academic performance, achievements, performance in the interview, work experience etc as decided by the admissions committee. Selected candidates have to register for the programme in Sept 2010.

Pedagogy
The pedagogy will be a judicious mix of lectures, case discussions, project work, term papers, role-play, seminar presentations, assignments, management games, and simulations.

Programme details
The EPGP is structured to prepare executives for transformational leadership positions. During the intense one-year programme, they will work towards developing a deeper understanding of various facets of management and hone their managerial skills. The programme is spread over five academic terms. The first three terms (mostly composed of core courses) focus on laying the foundation for the specialization through a bundle of electives offered in the other terms. The last two terms are mostly electives and other experiential learning. An intervening international module provides an opportunity to develop an understanding of the global business environment and the ability to operate in a multicultural environment.

How to Apply
Candidates seeking admission to the one-year EPGP programme of IIM-Indore (2010-11 batch) either have to appear in the Common Admission Test (CAT 2009) or submit their GMAT score. The GMAT score should have been obtained between Jan 1, 2007 and March 31, 2010. They will have to send in a separate application form which can be downloaded from our website www.iimidr.ac.in. A separate advertisement will be released in due course indicating the date from which the application form will be available on the website.
The completed application form along with the processing fee should reach IIM Indore on or before 20th April, 2010. The application processing fee is Rs. 3500/- for resident Indians and U.S. $ 110/- for other nationals and non-resident Indians. Please enclose a D/D for the application-processing fee drawn in favour of IIM Indore payable at Indore along with the application.

Candidates applying through CAT 2009 have to mention their CAT Application Form number in the EPGP Application form. Candidates applying through GMAT have to submit their GMAT score along with the EPGP Application form.

Programme fee
The programme fee is Rs. 18,00,000/- (Rupees Eighteen Lakhs only) for Indian Nationals and US $45,000 (U.S.D forty five thousand only) for Foreign Nationals and non-resident indians. The fee includes tuition, course material, access to library facilities, network /computer charges, lodging. All expenses related to international module will have to be borne by the candidate.

Executive-PGP

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

The 18-month Executive PGP programme is a uniquely designed course for working executives and entrepreneurs. It provides them a platform to hone their skills and competencies, to grow higher in business. Typically, this program admits candidates with a minimum of 5 years of experience after graduation. These candidates can also be organization-sponsored.

The course is divided into 6 terms of 3 months each, with each term consisting of 5 modules. They include 2 campus visits for around 9 days each, which are scheduled in between a pre campus and a post campus module. The 2 campus modules are separated by an interim period which typically consists of assignments and preparatory exercises for the second campus module.

The curriculum consists of compulsory courses in the first 4 terms . These are mostly foundation courses and courses in the basic functional areas like finance, marketing, human resource management, operations management etc. The 5th term has a mix of compulsory courses and electives while the 6th term includes purely electives.

The pedagogy used is a judicious mix of lectures, case discussions, project work, term papers, role-play, seminar presentations, assignments, films, management games, and topics of independent study.

PROGRAMME STRUCTURE
The 5 modules are as follows:
Pre-Campus (Module-1): The normal duration of this module is approximately 20 to 25 days. The course outline, reading materials and reference books are given to the participants at the beginning of the term. Participants have to go through the readings that have been given to him/her before the campus visit. The instructor could choose to give the participant additional assignment/s, if necessary. There will be 07-08 interactive sessions conducted through satellite (video conferencing) of 01 hour each during this phase.

First Campus Visit (Module-2): The duration of this module is 9 days (approx), wherein a participant is required to visit and stay on campus for all nine days. There would be 4 to 6 sessions per day, each of 90 minutes duration. On the first day there may be a pre-campus module written test for a course, based on the reading material given during the pre-campus module. Additional tests could be given during this visit.

Interim Period (Module 3): Duration of this period is approximately 20-25 days. Participants are expected to revise and absorb the classroom learning and complete the assignments given during the first campus visit. Participants are also expected to complete the assignments given during first campus visit and prepare for the classes of second campus visit. Participants need to start planning for individual course project so that they can discuss it during their second campus visit.

Second Campus Visit (Module 4): The duration of this module is 9 days (approx), wherein a participant is required to stay on campus for all the nine days. There would be 4 to 6 sessions per day, each of 90 minutes duration. A test may be conducted on the first day of second campus visit. Regular classes and end-term test will be conducted during this period of 9 days.

Post-Campus (Module5): This is the last module of the term. The participants are expected to submit their projects/assignments by the end of this module. There will be 07-08 interactive sessions conducted through satellite (video conferencing) of 01 hour each during this phase.
